RISE has developed a written Title I Parent Involvement Policy with input from Title I parents. RISE began the parent involvement policy in the Spring of 2012, prior to opening, as part of the Public School Choice process for opening newly built LAUSD campuses. Since August 2012, RISE staff has distributed the policy to parents of Title I students and has engaged in an annual revision process through the School Site Council. We use a relational meeting model and Adaptive Schools strategies to create collaborative spaces for parent participation. The policy is distributed annually at 9th Grade Registration, orientation, and at our annual Title I Meeting. It is also distributed to students during Advisory, is available on the school website, and is mailed home with our monthly newsletter. The policy describes the means for carrying out the Title I parental involvement requirements [20 USC 6318 Section 1118(a)-(f) inclusive].
