All about me

I come from a long line of teachers; my parents, my uncles, my aunts, and my grandfather were all teachers. I have been in academics for over 17 years, 5 of which were spent at LAUSD. I received my Bachelor's degree in Faculty of Arts, my Credentials in Mathematics, and my Masters in Education. I have been blessed with 4 children and a son in law. Before coming to America, I was a missionary in Sudan for 7 years working to address social, mental, spiritual, educational, and physical needs of the young men and women in that community. I’ve always had a passion for math, critical thinking, and the way math is used to solve real life problems. My approach to teaching is holistic and does not only cover math but I am interested in the student’s overall well-being. When I'm not working or spending time with my kids, I play piano, teach Sunday School, and lead my church choir.
